Weekly Highlights

In case you missed it in the weekly update that went out on Tuesday...we can offer the mini-kit for just $29 for the 29 days of February!!! The mini-kit is normally $69, so this is an AMAZING deal!!! Consultants can start their own business for just $29 on February 1 and work towards earning an iPad 2...and they can join us at the training at Lake Martin February 3-5 because we still have room! • Katie Meyerpeter (Chelsea, AL) had her 2nd party this week and is signing up her first recruit on February 1...and her new recruit is joining us at the Lake Training! :)

• Melinda Thompson (Batesville, MS) had 4 parties over the last 2 weeks!

• Tara Maple (Opelika, AL) & I are dong a booth at the Montgomery Home & Garden Show this weekend!

• The training weekend at Lake Martin is NEXT WEEKEND! I am so excited for a great weekend of training and just having fun with the awesome women on our team! :)
  

Weekly Highlights

I hope that you are all doing well and are EXCITED about all the fun news in Usborne land!!! :) I am so pumped about earning an iPad 2...my boys are excited too! All of us can do this...and we have 11 days before the contest begins to plan. So, get out your calendars and make sure you have enough bookings in February, March, April, & May to get that iPad in June! :)

Here are some highlights from this week...

• Katie Meyerpeter (Chelsea, AL) had a FANTASTIC kick-off party...great sales, 2 possible bookings, and 1 possible recruit!

• Brandy Forsyth (Weaver, AL) is talking with 2 Montessori schools about doing a book fair!

• Julianne Carney (Collierville, TN) scheduled Cards for a Cause appointments with 2 schools!
  

Want an iPad 2!?! How about a Mediterranean Cruise!?!

I know I do!!!! I LOVE how Usborne is constantly giving us AMAZING things we can work towards...and this is one is so doable for EVERYONE!!! Sorry for all the caps and exclamation marks...can you tell I am excited!?!!! :) So, here is how we do it. If you earn Home Office Challenge 1 (HOC 1) for the months of February, March, April, & May, you will get an iPad 2! If you earn Home Office Challenge 2 (HOC 2) for each of those months, you get an iPad 2 AND a Trip Bonus (trip upgrade, free excursion, or 1/2 price buy-in for a family member)! The trip earning period for a MEDITERRANEAN CRUISE begins in June when the iPad contest is over!!! So, here are the requirements for the Home Office Challenges...

For Consultants:
HOC 1
February $500 net sales
March $750 net sales
April $750 net sales
May $750 net sales

For Supervisors:
HOC 1
February $750 net sales
March $1000 net sales
April $1000 net sales
May $1000 net sales

HOC 2 (same for Consultants & Supervisors):
February $1000 net sales + 1 recruit
March $1500 net sales + 1 recruit
April $1500 net sales + 1 recruit
May $1500 net sales + 1 recruit

Remember...net sales = retail sales - commission.

Do you understand how attainable this is!?! I would LOVE to see tons of consultants on our team get an iPad 2 in June! If this is a goal you want to work towards, here are 2 contest trackers that you can print. If you are a consultant, print the one for Consultants. If you are a Supervisor, print the one for Supervisors.

I have already printed mine and hung it above my desk...that way it is visible. I will see it everyday and be reminded of what I am working towards. And, as you reach the goal each month, you can check off that month. Look at your calendar and determine how many home parties and other events you need to schedule in order to reach your goal. For those of you coming to the lake training weekend in February, we will talk about how each of us can do this! And, even though we don't know the requirements for earning the Mediterranean Cruise yet (since that contest doesn't begin until June), we will also talk about some basic tips for earning Usborne trips! :)

I hope you are all having a fabulous week! There is some exciting news on the horizon...I just got word from some Usborne Supervisors at the Advanced Leadership Retreat in Orlando that an incentive to earn an iPad 2 is coming in this Spring!!! As soon as I get the details, I will pass them on. Here are some highlights from this week...

• Katie Meyerpeter (Chelsea, AL) booked 2 home parties and a pre-school book fair! She is also going to be joining us at the training weekend at Lake Martin in February!
  

• Julianne Carney (Collierville, TN) has a HUGE author visit coming up in February! She is bringing in presidential historian and author of What Does the President Look Like?, Jane Hampton Cook, to visit 6 schools in her area. Julianne has put so much time and effort into this event...I know it's going to be a big success!!!
  

New Titles!

Even after being an Usborne consultant for 4 1/2 years, I still get giddy over new titles! I received a box of our new titles yesterday, and I am SO EXCITED...our books just keep getting better and better! I wanted to highlight a few for you that I am especially excited about.



Operation Robot Storm, Mythical 9th Division Book 1
Three yetis are about to save the world, in this hilarious new series.

Something strange is happening in the Welsh mountains. It should be the middle of summer, but Snowdonia has been besieged by blizzards and ice storms. A company of Arctic-trained soldiers sent to investigate has disappeared, and the only remaining hope is a secret troop of yeti agents - the Mythical 9th Division. Each Mythical 9th book is fully illustrated with a four-page comic-strip chapter introduction.

You may thinking, "Really, you are excited about this!?! A book about yetis saving the world!?!" You bet I am! Because I do a lot of elementary school book fairs...and I happen to live with 2 elementary school boys. :) They are going to go ape (or bigboot) over this new series! And, each chapter begins with a comic-strip introduction. Finally, we can say "yes" when we are asked if we have graphic novels!



Fashion Dolls: China
Filled with interesting facts about the food, holidays traditions, clothing , flora and fauna, the Fashion Dolls series takes paper dolls to a whole new level, allowing children to learn about culture and customs with creativity.

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE our Sticker Dolly series. They are some of my best sellers. But, I love how this series combines the "girliness" of sticker dolls with knowledge about different cultures of the world! The series also includes books about Africa, Japan, The Islands, and India.



Easter Bunny Flap Book
In this delightful book there are pages of cute little bunnies and flaps to raise. Lots of surprises waiting for little ones, under the flaps.

This book is adorable! Not only does it have flaps, but it also has a circle cut-out to the next page where you can see who the Easter bunny is going to visit next...very similar to Bunny on the Beach and Panda in the Park.
