Weekly Highlights

What an exciting week it has been! Between gearing up for the call-a-thon next week, the amazing training calls this week, and the news that Usborne is going to be featured on the CBS Early Show, I have been on an Usborne high all week!!! :) I hope you are all as excited as I am! This next week could be the week that takes all of our businesses to the next level...I hope you are all ready!!!! Here are some highlights from this week...

• Jessica Wood (Leighton, AL) & Maegan Cody (Florence, AL) got TONS of leads from their consignment sale booth to follow up with next week!
• Alyson Snow (Birmingham, AL) had her first appointment with a school librarian today!
• We had the privilege of participating in AMAZING training calls this week from successful leaders in our company...and were reminded that anyone can do this business! To quote Julianne Carney (Collierville, TN): Just got off of an Usborne training call with a lady who has done this biz for 14 years, has 5 kids, started when she had one, was running a daycare out of her home, waitressed at night, and her husband was still in college. Today she still has one little one at home and homeschools her 5th grader. She is super successful. Pretty sure if she can do it, anyone, including myself, can do it!

CBS Early Show segment rescheduled!

The home office was notified by CBS late this afternoon that the segment featuring Usborne has been rescheduled for NEXT WEEK!!! As soon as the home office hears more, they will let us know. In the meantime, be telling your customers & contacts that it is coming! :)

Usborne on the CBS Early Show Friday!!!

Usborne Books & More has been chosen as part of a feature segment on the CBS Early Show this Friday, March 4th at 7am!!! We do not yet know the specific time for the segment - but we do know that the spot is mentioned on the website as one of the offerings for Friday. We will be mentioned, along with other network marketing opportunities, as a viable opportunity for employment for women. Think about using this to build your business! What great timing before you begin making calls next week! Think about opening your recruiting calls with, "Did you see the spot on the CBS Early Show on Friday?" National recognition may help open some doors that were shut until now. Don't limit yourself - use this to book, recruit and sell!! Be sure to record the show so that you can see exactly what they mention (hopefully a lot) and then go out there and WATCH YOUR BUSINESS BLOOM!!! I just set my DVR to record it, and the description of Friday's show says, "Chef Rick Moonen. Also: the top businesses for women." This is so exciting!!! :)

Convention Registration is Open!!!!

It's official! Convention registration is up and running! Go to the official website at www.myubam.com/convention to read all about this year's convention and to register. Speakers this year include Peter Usborne, founder of Usborne Publishing, and Janet Hampton Cook, presidential historian and author of one of our newest Kane Miller titles. Remember if you register before March 31, you get the early bird special of $140! After March 31, the convention cost will increase to $175. I hope many of you will join us this year! Spring Call-a-Thon

The "Business is Blooming Call-a-Thon" runs March 7-11, and the home office is providing training for us before the call-a-thon even starts!
